Airport railroad counters and ticket machines also provide card-payment options, but acceptance can depend on the machine, card network, issuer security settings and transaction method.

A card that works at a Korean shop may still be rejected by an unattended ticket machine. Possible reasons include overseas transactions being disabled, an issuer security block, unsupported card authentication or a terminal compatibility problem.

2. Before Using an Airport ATM

Check the ATM for Global ATM, Foreign Card or International Card and a matching network logo. Your card must permit overseas cash withdrawals, and you need its PIN. The Korean ATM owner and your home bank may each charge a fee. Your bank may also impose a daily withdrawal limit.

• Check that you selected Foreign Card or Global Service.

Make sure you are in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Your airline's arrival terminal and the bus departure point determine the stop number and departure time.

7. Do You Need an Advance Reservation?

Many airport limousine routes can be purchased on arrival, but seats and convenient departure times may be limited during busy periods.
