Start on the quieter Exit 3 side. Walk through the linear park, often called “Yeontral Park,” and explore Yeonnam-dong’s café and restaurant alleys. Allow 30–60 minutes for a relaxed walk.

3. Yeonnam-dong → Korean lunch

Return toward the station for Korean food. Useful local choices include Donsoobaek Hongdae (돈수백 홍대직영) for pork-and-rice soup or Myth Jokbal Hongdae (미쓰족발 홍대) for braised pig’s feet. VISITKOREA describes Myth Jokbal as about two minutes from Exit 9. Check current hours before visiting.

4. Lunch → Hongdae shopping streets

Explore clothing shops, cosmetics stores, photo booths, accessory shops and arcades. The area is walkable, but sidewalks and crossings are busy in the late afternoon and evening.

5. Shopping → KT&G Sangsangmadang

Continue along Eoulmadang-ro toward KT&G Sangsangmadang, a cultural space with design, exhibitions and performance facilities. The walk from the station area usually takes around 10–15 minutes.

6. Sangsangmadang → Korean BBQ dinner

For dinner, search for 옛날집참숯구이, a Korean barbecue restaurant near Hongik University Station known for grilled pork belly, or choose another busy restaurant with a visible menu and clear prices.

7. Evening street performances → Hotel

Return through the main Hongdae streets. Busking and dance performances are common, but schedules are informal and not guaranteed. At night, stay on well-lit streets and keep normal care of your belongings.
